Open Source Cipher.

I've been a license owner since the beginning of time (Well, since 2006) and there has been very little released to us in that time. Open Source it and find other ways to monetize it. Charge only for releasing commercial games. Port it the iPhone, etc.

Yeah, I think that the cipher is a dead engine, and open source the 2.0 version will be a great think that will be beneficial to all us.
Because of this inactivity I changed to the C4 engine and I'm very happy with it, because of the good design, support and constant activity of the forums.

Open sourcing the engine might be a good thing.
Something like what Trollteq did with Qt.

Commercial License for people who want to use it commercialy and a open source license for the community.

But I still believe that this is engine is worth the money I paid for. It is well written for, the design is really nice. But it needs update and some cleanup.

One of the thing I'd remove from Cipher is "sgl" and I'd use Glee instead. I'll probably implement a plugin way of loading images and 3d models and sounds may be network also..

But once I get there, my version of cipher will not be compatible with what cipher has right now.

At least, it could be fun to see some progress over cipher2
